![]() The artefact provides stage 3 teachers with an introduction to the concept of becoming connected educators, outlines personal learning network (PLNs) and provides detailed instruction on how to create and use a Google+ account (using the Department of Education details) as a digital tool to inform teaching practices and encourage staff to collaborate with other professionals outside of the school boundary. However, as depicted by Nussbaum-Beach & Hall (2012), very little collaboration exists outside of the school perimeter. This collaboration provides an environment for educators to connect and learn from each other. Nussbaum-Beach & Hall (2012) signify the importance technology plays to teachers and learners for developing communities of collaboration. The purpose of the digital artefact is to introduce the concept of knowledge networks, outlining how and why it is important to become a connected educator to inform current teaching practice. ![]() The artefact was created using PowToon and has been prepared for a target audience of stage 3 teachers.
